support of FirebirdSQL RDBMS
Written by zufolo the 15 Feb 11 at 15:21. Related project: 2.x all. New
For me, is really difficult to manage data in MySQL... I need a powerful SQL engine in order to write procedure for analyzing data, and for this we usually make use of Firebird.

Create statistics for date questions
Written by Mazi the 15 Jan 10 at 16:28. Related project: 1.x all. New
Up to now (LS 1.87) there are no statistics for question type "date" available. It would be nice to create some charts (showing results in a table isn't necessary from my point of view) so the admin gets an overview which date was entered.
No solutions.

I want to know the running time of a survey
Written by Eddie_V the 21 Apr 11 at 13:16. Global category: Statistics. New
into the lime_surveys table there is a field datecreated when the survey was created. What I would like to know about a survey is when it was activated. this to create statistics about how long the surveys are running(or have ran) on our system.

ofcourse to determin how long a survey has ran there would also be a need for DateLastDeactivated.

It would be nice to show the running time of a survey on the current statistics pages. And as in our case those fields could be used for custom statistics about all the surveys that are currently running on the system.

Solution #1: Add DateLastActivated into Lime_surveys table
Written by Eddie_V the 21 Apr 11 at 13:16.
and maybe a field DateLastDeactivated. where the date is stored the survey was last activated and deactivated altho, you can retrieve this from the timestamp given to the lime_old_surveys_% tables.

OpenStreetMap integration

I'd love to see LimeSurvey to be connected to open source instead of commercial services. OpenStreetMap is currently not supported by LimeSurvey.

the complaint of filter stats sets
Written by darknico84 the 4 Nov 10 at 10:04. Related project: 1.x all. New
In some situation where you have to "replay" many times the same filters sets on various surveys (but with same question set) it can be very long and bothering to click each time on hundreds of filter sets.

Solution #1: Creating macros for stats filters
Written by darknico84 the 4 Nov 10 at 10:04.
It might be very convenient to be able to re-use a specified filter set without having to choose everything, item by item, each time.
That's why, it could be nice to be able to save your filter settings, to load them back when required and eventually to copy these sets from a survey to another.

Thanks :)

Tracking a survey via an RSS feed
Written by lachmac the 22 Sep 11 at 17:27. Global category: Statistics. New
I run quite a few surveys that are open for 7 days. It is important to issue reminders, and it is important to do this with the right timing, and it would be good to keep other people in our own organizations, and in the customer organization up to speed with the way the survey is going - most specifically with regards to the response rate.

For a company using Limesurvey to do market research type of inquiries this would be an easy way to get an edge vs some of the more expensive non-open source tools that exist.

I had the idea that this should be possible to do using an rss feed. The RSS feed should provide data for;

The name of the survey
When the invitations were sent out
Number of respondents that have been invited
Number of completed surveys

So for example;
Survey [SURVEYNAME]
Started [DATE, TIME]
Invited number of respondents [RESPONDENTS_INVITED]
Completed number of surveys [COMPLETED_SURVEYS] corresponding to a
response rate of ([COMPLETED_SURVEYS]/[RESPONDENTS_INVITED]) %.

Solution #1: Put an RSS feed for the token summary page
Written by lachmac the 22 Sep 11 at 17:27.
Most of the information is available on the TOKEN summary page, so the RSS could be generated from that point, or from the Responses Summary page.

I am not a good enough programmer to see quite how this should be done, but on the face of it it does not appear to be so difficult.

Paradata recording
Written by myksyd the 19 Sep 11 at 18:34. Global category: Statistics. New
The idea is: during answering respondent could change his vote, think different time on each question, swich to other window or site (this data names paradata - data about collection of information). It is important to record all this movement and actions to further analise.

Solution #1: paradata could be record in text line
Written by myksyd the 19 Sep 11 at 18:34.
The paradata could be written in text line divided for examle by &... eg: question_number;date-time;answer;date-time&question_number;date-time;answer;dat e-time etc. There are some links: http://dublincore.org/metadata-basics/

Logging system, isn't it necessary?!
Written by yaziderman the 31 Oct 11 at 10:17. Global category: Statistics. New
We use the limesurvey as a survey for our mystery shoppers, it works well, but we wonder why we receive complains from some of them from time to time that an interruption occurs while filling a survey, a problem that doesn't happen frequently, but it happens sometimes and leads to loss of time and effort!

I suggest that you add a logging system, so that we may be able to trace users steps on our surveys, this way, we may recognize the source of the problems! it's maybe a bug in a browser or an action that the user takes by fault, logging system would help us in finding these facts and by consequent recommend tools to users to avoid these problems rather than fixing them!

Solution #1: Adding a normal logging system
Written by yaziderman the 31 Oct 11 at 10:17.
it's very simple and native idea to add a logging system, user interactivity (visited pages, clicks, browser blocks, session time out, etc.. ) on the system have to be written in a log file.

Add totals to Limesurvey Stats
Written by lowprofile the 3 May 12 at 17:51. Global category: Statistics. New
Something very basic that limesurvey is missing is a "Total count" row for each question. This is something that people who look at stats require

For example the screenshot example in the limesurvey documentation at
http://docs.limesurvey.org/Statistics&structure=English+Instructions+for+LimeSu rvey
The count will be 6 as indicated by the filter, but would change for multi answer questions.

Also this feature should include the ability to remove the
No answer and the Non Completed rows, without having to filter the questions answers (it could be a global check box "Do not include No answer or Non Completed")

Solution #1: Add total row
Written by lowprofile the 3 May 12 at 17:51.
sum the count column and show in the row after non completed(as per example above)
Non Completed and No answer should be able to be globally removed.

View statistics after answering question
Written by axl163 the 12 Feb 12 at 22:36. Global category: Statistics. New
Currently, users are allowed to view the survey statistics after answering the entire survey. It would be nice to be able to view statistics after answering each question. This way, there is a bit more incentive for users to answer the survey instead of having to make it all the way to the end.

One site that does a great example of this is TraitWise:

Add Question ID to results tables.
Written by holch the 9 May 12 at 17:14. Global category: Statistics. New
When browsing the responses the header of the column consists of the question text. This not only creates a huge row (which luckily is adapted by LS already), but the first few words of a question can be often very similiar, which makes it very difficult to find the right row.

It should be relatively easy to add a row above which contains the question code, which would make it a lot easier to identify the respective row.

Additionally, in the screen to limit de responses for the statistics, there is only shown the question text and not the question ID. With big surveys it would be so much easier to search via the question ID.

Solution #1: Add question ID to the response table and the response filters screen
Written by holch the 9 May 12 at 17:14.
A. Add a row to the top of the response table with the question ID. Just above the question text should be fine. I think this is better than to include it in the same cell.

B. Add the question ID in front of the question text in 'limit responses' screen.

Filter Responses Based on Report Criteria
Written by tacman1123 the 1 Mar 12 at 17:10. Global category: Statistics. New
Limesurvey has a very powerful interface for creating summary reports (graphs and charts) based on all sorts of criteria.

But sometimes I want a listing by that same criteria, not a summary report.

Solution #1: Add a "Show Responses" button to the Chart Tool
Written by tacman1123 the 1 Mar 12 at 17:10.
I think the easiest way to integrate this would be to add a "Show Responses" to the bottom of the statistic page, and instead of running the summary reports, the user would go to the "Display Results Page", with an indication what what filter was set.

Right now, the only filter that "Display Responses" supports is "Complete/Incomplete/All", this would allow searching by criteria specific to the survey, e.g. a report of everyone who answered "yes" to the question "Would you like one of our salespeople to contact you?"

Alternatively, the filtering UI used for statistics could be added to the top of the Display Responses page.

as administrator of the survey, it would be great to see the comments in PDF too
Written by aalano the 23 Aug 10 at 05:52. Related project: 1.x all. New
My survey has list comments questionnaire but I am unable to see the comments when I generate the stats in PDF or Excel. For report consolidation purposes, I think it will be extremely helpful to be abel to see the comments typed by respondents even in the PDF and Excel format.

To allow a freer use of NEXT button in the input screen
Written by mapwork the 3 Nov 10 at 19:39. Related project: 1.x all. New
Actually survey users either have press the next button after each questions or after filled out the complete number of questions belonging to questions group.

The first option is often tiring, while the second on may result in very large / long input screens.

The options of creating small question groups is not always convenient as they normally correspond to a logical unit (for which e.g. you want to keep or provide an assessment score).

Solution #1: Optional NEXT button for each question
Written by mapwork the 3 Nov 10 at 19:39.
An option would be to provide each question with the option to insert a NEXT button between that and the next question.

In this way the input screens would be better controlled for more user convenience without compromising the logical structure of the questions groups
