Store assessment results for further evaluation
Written by hardzsi the 26 Sep 09 at 15:37. Related project: 1.x all. New
The evaluated TOTAL assessment (sum) is nicely displayed at the end of the survey - which can only be seen by the user who filled the survey in.
However, this result is not stored at the answers database. After a lot of user filled the survey in, i would like to see the sums given for all of these users.
Now i have to export the answers and should repeat the assessment / summarize in Excel before i can see these TOTAL sums.

Solution #1: store all the existing assessment placeholders at the end of answer database

Store at least TOTAL. If possible, PERC and ASSESSMENT_CURRENT_TOTAL too.

Solution #2: Don't store, just calculate for export
Written by c_schmitz the 8 Aug 11 at 13:22.
I think it is not the best way to store a score that may be subject to changes when editing a response. Best would be to calc the values during export.

Advanced reporting for assessments
Written by tiprichard the 25 Sep 09 at 17:17. Related project: 2.x all. New
For assessments we need statistics about howmany people passed the assessment. (like an exam)
For auditing purposes we need reports how many points are scored per group as percentage of the total possible points. If possible shown in a spiderweb graph, where each group equals one line of the web.

Solution #3: BIRT or JasperReport
Written by najlamif the 6 Apr 11 at 08:54.
As with Solution 1, I would like to propose either BIRT or Jasper Reports - I've used both recently in my PHP projects, and they bring a world of a difference to reporting - taking the design aspects and business logic out of the application and moving them to the reporting layer. Also, the various exports are handled as well

Group subquestion stats/charts are presented in fragmented way
Written by mfreund the 6 Jul 10 at 22:08. Related project: 1.x all. New
It would be great if questions containing subquestions (e.g. array questions with multiple questions) could display in statistics and graphs together on a single chart.

Also, pie charts are a poor way to display data that is not categorical in nature. Ordinal (e.g. education level) or scale (e.g. age) variables are hard to make sense of in pie charts.

For example, I often ask respondents to agree or disagree with a number of related statements. It would be good to view the responses together and displayed in a way that conveys that the responses are on a continuum.

Solution #1: Display subquestion stats together, using stacked bar charts
Written by mfreund the 6 Jul 10 at 22:08.
An ideal format for doing this would be a stacked bar chart. Each bar could be a subquestion, and the answer options stacked in the order defined in the question design. (In my example, they would be Strongly Disagree / Disagree / Neutral / Agree / Strongly agree.)

Open Answertable up so that we can alter formatting
Written by creek138 the 14 Oct 09 at 22:02. Related project: 1.x all. New
In addition to plenty of other uses, we utilize this software to implement all of our annual evaluations (we are nonprofit). It works very well, however, the formatting on the print answers screen is not suitable for presentation to the employee. We would love for the managers in our organization to be able to printh the answers on the fly and sit down with the employee. Currently however, this is not an option.

At current, we have the managers submit each evaluation. Then we have encoded LS so that it routes a text file of the token to a server which then processes that token in a Crystal Report (the CR build was painstaking as LS's DBO is not condusive to pull answers (which are encoded as a string of the Sid,Gid,and Qid) with the questions and label sets. Not only is this workaround inefficient, but it's convoluted and labor intensive (still better than anything else out there, especially for the price!) .

Solution #1: Open up Answertable!
Written by creek138 the 14 Oct 09 at 22:02.
There are two solutions I can think of:

1. Build Answertable so that we can change the formatting in an editor, allow us to include all labelsets with the question and indicate which one is selected. Allow for dop and drag placement

2. You guys already have a BEAUTIFUL printable version of the survey as an option, but you have to print it out and then write in the answers by hand, can you somehow merge the answertable with this printable version?

Option to show text responses in statistics view (via filter)
Written by Doc101 the 23 Jul 10 at 13:38. Related project: 1.x all. New
We need to disseminate survey results to a large amount of people, and creating users/group and access permissions, plus training everyone to be able to pull result data etc is not practical.

The ability to show text responses and export them from the statistics page would solve this problem and allow quick dissemination of qualitative and qualitative data in an easy to use, familiar format (PDF/Excel)

Solution #1: Filter option to show all text responses to a question
Written by Doc101 the 23 Jul 10 at 13:38.
I think having a filter option to show/export text responses is the best way to go. People will then have the option of keeping all the data quantifiable (as it is now) with the ability to 'browse' responses OR allowing all text responses to be shown directly in the statistics page without having to open any new windows, and with available in the PDF/Excel exports.

Thanks!

Need group mean or calculations for assessments
Written by mfreund the 27 Sep 10 at 12:19. Related project: 1.x all. New
Currently the assessments only seem to allow reporting based on a total value for each group (or perhaps the percentage of total possible score?).

It would be great if it were possible to construct assessments using a mean or other statistic (e.g. median or mode)

Even better would be to be able to create more complex calculations. Some applications might be to allow for differential weighting of questions (beyond simply assigning greater or lesser assessment values), transformation of values (e.g. combining a question with a 4-point scale and one with a 5-point scale), or calculation of new variables using question values (e.g. ratio of two question scores).

usage of colours in pie-charts
Written by Biggi the 2 Dec 09 at 08:34. Related project: 1.x all. New
Hi,

it would be helpful for comparability of the statistical graphs by using consequently the same colour for first, second, third … answer even if there is no answer given on one choice. For example there are some questions of type 5 point choice array. On one question nobody gives the answer “1”. Now you look at your graphs of the statistic and in all pie-charts you see blue=”1”, red=”2”, green=”3”, yellow=”4” and olive=”5” only in the one, where no one selected the first choice “1” blue stands for “2”, red for “3” and so on. To compare the charts it would be better to skip the colour where the statistical answers are null.

knowing presentation order of randomized questions can be important
Written by Tiepies the 9 May 11 at 14:45. Global category: Statistics. New
Randomization of questions is a great feature included in LimeSurvey 1.91. For people using LimeSurvey in psychological research, however, knowing the order in which randomized trials are presented can be important. In the analysis of psychological data, trial number is often included as an additional variable, to account for learning or fatigue effects.

Solution #1: store presentation order of randomized questions
Written by Tiepies the 9 May 11 at 14:45.
Although I don't know myself how to implement this, it does not seem that hard to me to store the presentation order with the survey results. A trial number variable can be added to the results, with a value for each question whenever the survey administrator chooses to randomize the order of the questions. Same goes for the randomization of answers within a question.

"lottery" for LimeSurvey
Written by vierundzwanzig the 4 Nov 11 at 09:58. Global category: Statistics. New
use case

The creator of a survey should be able to include a lottery into the survey. The participant will leave his/her e-mail address for participation in the lottery. In the admin tool it should be possible to see how many people have participated in the lottery and randomly select a number of e-mail addresses for the winners.

requirements

- If the participant takes part in the survey no conclusions about the participant should be possible. For example if the e-mail address is stored in the same survey database table or the sessionID and timestamp of the participation of the survey and lottery are stored in both of the two separate tables.
- The lottery should be part of a survey. It should not be a link to a new/additional survey (with navigation and "submit" button).
- The selection of winners should be done automatically by the LimeSurvey admin tool.

Solution #1: new question type "lottery-email"
Written by vierundzwanzig the 4 Nov 11 at 09:58.
A new question type "lottery email" is to be created. This type will be used as a free text field for entering the e-mail address. Writing to the database is done in a separate table like "lime_win_SID" without the SessionID or timestamp being stored in this table to ensure that no conclusions about the participants of the survey can be drawn.
In the area "responses & statistics"/"statistics" there should be a new textbox and a button to specify a number of winners. The winners are determined via random-number generator from the answers of the question with the type "lottery email". The winners are then shown on the page.

votes
up equal down
Solution #2: integrate a new single page survey
Written by vierundzwanzig the 4 Nov 11 at 09:59.
For the lottery and the actual survey two separate surveys will be created by the same creator. The question group with the e-mail address from the lottery survey will then be integrated in the actual survey with a new feature (a new drop-down box to display another survey of the creator. The question group should also be used in the selected survey). The e-mail address is stored in the database table of the lottery survey.
In the area "responses & statistics"/"statistics" there should be a new textbox and a button to specify a number of winners. The winners are determined via random-number generator from the answers of the question with the type "lottery email". The winners are then shown on the page.

Real-time access to and analysis of results

I run many surveys for many different companies on a Limesurvey account. What I would like to be able to offer them is:

real-time access to their survey results displayed in a dynamic interface, like a proper reporting tool. This would complete the delivery from Limesurvey, from start/invitations, through the survey runtime all the way to reporting the results.

the complaint of filter stats sets

Solution #1: Creating macros for stats filters
Written by darknico84 the 4 Nov 10 at 10:04.
It might be very convenient to be able to re-use a specified filter set without having to choose everything, item by item, each time.
That's why, it could be nice to be able to save your filter settings, to load them back when required and eventually to copy these sets from a survey to another.

Thanks :)
