single button to add (1)question code, (2) q text and (3) options
Written by atiut the 2 Apr 12 at 12:29. Global category: Import/Export. New
I was wondering if it were possible and useful to extend the power of the quick add button in such a way that within one input box we can insert (1) the question code, (2) the question text, and (3) the options.

Solution #1: move "question" type and "quick add" above the box for question code
Written by atiut the 2 Apr 12 at 12:29.
Let's have this example, properly formatted:

Q1; Why do you use Limesurvey?
1; It is free
2; It is flexible and open
3; My boss says so

First step would be like this

Copy Permissions from one survey to another

There is no way to copy the group or user permissions from one survey to another.

Solution #1: Check Box to copy permissions

A simple check box when you copy one survey to either keep the permissions or not.

Add totals to Limesurvey Stats
Written by lowprofile the 3 May 12 at 17:51. Global category: Statistics. New
Something very basic that limesurvey is missing is a "Total count" row for each question. This is something that people who look at stats require

For example the screenshot example in the limesurvey documentation at
http://docs.limesurvey.org/Statistics&structure=English+Instructions+for+LimeSu rvey
The count will be 6 as indicated by the filter, but would change for multi answer questions.

Also this feature should include the ability to remove the
No answer and the Non Completed rows, without having to filter the questions answers (it could be a global check box "Do not include No answer or Non Completed")

Solution #1: Add total row
Written by lowprofile the 3 May 12 at 17:51.
sum the count column and show in the row after non completed(as per example above)
Non Completed and No answer should be able to be globally removed.

Question groups have no code
Written by marcoep the 10 May 12 at 17:38. Global category: Logic & Conditions. New
I just realized that question groups have no code. Why? Indeed, for automation purposes, notably via Equation questions, it'd be pretty handy to have group codes so that one can use them as namespaces. Then, a same set of codes and labels could be used for different homogeneous groups.

Apart from mnemonic benefits, I guess there might be other advantages...

Solution #1: Group codes as namespaces
Written by marcoep the 10 May 12 at 17:38.
Say we have two groups and one question for both

Groups := me:'about me', you:'about you'
Question := rank:'rank that and this':array[1-5]:
that:'foo bar',
this:'baz quux'

then, answers would be unequivocally referenced as

me.rank.that
me.rank.this
you.rank.that
you.rank.this

and comparisons would be straightforward.

All question groups and codes visible in the same place
Written by marcoep the 10 May 12 at 10:59. Global category: Logic & Conditions. New
Hi there,

I just started using the Equation feature in v1.92. That's a pretty handy mechanism, though I find it a bit tricky to write a complex equation as the needed question codes are *not* visible in the equation page being prepared. That forces me to jump repeatedly from one group to another (possibly in different browser tabs) looking for the right codes. So I propose...

p.s. Maybe the global category I selected is wrong; it should be something like "Layout"

Solution #1: Side bar showing a survey structure's synopsis
Written by marcoep the 10 May 12 at 10:59.
Having a side bar showing all question groups and codes as a collapsible tree: there, one could just expand a branch and select+copy the relevant codes.

Add Question ID to results tables.
Written by holch the 9 May 12 at 17:14. Global category: Statistics. New
When browsing the responses the header of the column consists of the question text. This not only creates a huge row (which luckily is adapted by LS already), but the first few words of a question can be often very similiar, which makes it very difficult to find the right row.

It should be relatively easy to add a row above which contains the question code, which would make it a lot easier to identify the respective row.

Additionally, in the screen to limit de responses for the statistics, there is only shown the question text and not the question ID. With big surveys it would be so much easier to search via the question ID.

Solution #1: Add question ID to the response table and the response filters screen
Written by holch the 9 May 12 at 17:14.
A. Add a row to the top of the response table with the question ID. Just above the question text should be fine. I think this is better than to include it in the same cell.

B. Add the question ID in front of the question text in 'limit responses' screen.

Exporting to Stata dataset format
Written by dflotta the 9 May 12 at 13:48. Global category: Import/Export. New
I'm a happy Stata user and I've started to use limesurvey for making online surveys. I realize that SPSS is the most used software for statistical analysis in academic context, but it would be great if it was possible to export answers directly in Stata dataset format (.dta).

A Stata export button would be a very useful feature to have in limesurvey.

To use Paypal with LS
Written by mkb the 12 May 12 at 15:35. Global category: Question types. New
Hello,
Since LS can be used for far more things than surveys such as forms.

How about adding the use of Paypal into LS. i.e. say you are filling out a form to purchase something.

Just a thought since I will be having a client that will be having 20 different music classes that he wants people to sign up for and pay. I was thinking why not use LS for that.

You could possibly have it as a question type or group.

Add some customization possibilities to the statistics module.

For basic analysis, the statistics module is great, but it should be improved to be somewhat customizable.
